Vietnamese Police Bust Crypto Scam Ring Linked to Offshore Actors

Vietnamese police have arrested five individuals connected to a crypto scam network led by offshore actors. The operation, based in Laos, targeted victims with "pig butchering" and cryptocurrency investment scams. The scammers used Facebook accounts to gain victims' trust through romance schemes before convincing them to invest in fraudulent crypto projects like "Biconomynft." One victim from Ho Chi Minh City lost over $700,000 to the scam.
